FrontierSI at PNT2026

FrontierSI’s Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) team will be at PNT2026 from 4 to 6 February at Royal Randwick, Sydney. Our team will be contributing across panels, technical sessions and the exhibition floor.

With growing reliance on positioning, navigation and timing across critical infrastructure, this year’s conference places a strong focus on how PNT services are designed, tested and operated in practice. FrontierSI’s involvement reflects ongoing work across policy, research and deployment, with staff sharing experience from projects that sit at the intersection of technology and operations.

FrontierSI is a Silver Sponsor of PNT2026 and will be exhibiting at Stall 8 throughout the conference.

PNT Labs, LEO PNT and Armouring the Clock

Dr Eldar Rubinov, PNT Technical Lead at FrontierSI, will contribute across several sessions focused on testing, assurance and future PNT capability.

On Thursday, 5 February, Eldar will speak as part of the Resilient PNT stream on PNT Labs: Establishing Australia’s First Testing and Evaluation Facility for Resilient PNT. The session will cover current PNT Labs activities, with relevance for industry, government, and international participants.

On Friday, 6 February, Eldar will also facilitate two sessions on LEO PNT to explore global industry and government perspectives on opportunities, risks, and areas for collaboration.

Eldar specialises in PNT, with a focus on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Satellite-based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) and Low Earth Orbit PNT. As FrontierSI’s PNT Technical Lead, his work spans both research and operational deployment, bridging technical development with industry needs. Eldar has led and contributed to projects across government and industry, supporting the testing, evaluation and use of PNT systems in real-world settings.

Resilient PNT and Women in PNT

Dr Jia-Urnn Lee, Strategic Growth Lead at FrontierSI, will take part in two sessions on Wednesday, 4 February.

Jia is a panellist on the Resilient PNT discussion, which will explore what resilience looks like in practice across policy settings, operational decision making and technical design. The session will also consider what resilient PNT means in the face of diverse threats to PNT.

Later that afternoon, Jia will facilitate the Women in PNT panel. The session brings together experienced leaders whose technical and business work has shaped Australia’s PNT capability, often without public recognition. The discussion will focus on how their work is influencing the sector today.

These sessions will be of interest to policy makers, PNT professionals, those working in related areas such as space, cyber and risk, and organisations responsible for critical infrastructure.

Jia manages capability development and strategic direction across FrontierSI’s growth initiatives. Her work focuses on PNT resilience for critical infrastructure and the link between technical and policy frameworks.

Independent monitoring of CORS performance

Lachlan Ng, Positioning Engineer and Spatial Developer at FrontierSI, will present a technical case study on Wednesday, 4 February, as part of the Geodetic Foundations and Measurement Techniques stream.

The presentation draws on a project delivered with Aptella, using Ginan, Geoscience Australia’s open-source precise point positioning engine, to independently monitor the performance of a commercial Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) network. The case study focuses on AllDayRTK, a GNSS network operated by Aptella.

Lachlan will demonstrate how real-time PPP solutions can be used to track station-level east, north, up (ENU) position errors and tropospheric states, with outputs streamed into a dashboard to support operational visibility.

Reliable CORS infrastructure underpins surveying, construction, agriculture and emergency response. As reliance on positioning services grows, independent and transparent performance monitoring becomes more necessary. Australian-developed open-source tools reduce dependence on proprietary systems and support confidence in positioning services. Real-time monitoring also allows issues to be identified earlier, supporting steadier operations.

The session will be useful for CORS network operators, positioning service providers, GNSS engineers, analysts, researchers, infrastructure owners and government agencies. Lachlan will also showcase FrontierSI’s Ginan Quality Monitoring project as a practical example.
