May 2026
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the first edition of our new-look FrontierSI newsletter.
We are seeing shifts in the sectors we work in. Environmental compliance expectations continue to grow. Risks relating to vulnerability of the systems we all rely on for positioning and timing are increasing. Availability and quality of data underpinning national decision making need to be addressed. These are rising to be front of mind issues for governments and business in Australia and globally.
We have redesigned this newsletter to reflect that – broadening our focus beyond internal updates to offer something that’s practical and useful to the organisations and individuals we work with. Each edition will focus on the sectors where FrontierSI’s spatial and location expertise can make a meaningful difference, with perspectives from our team on what is changing and what it means in practice.
This edition has a strong positioning, navigation and timing focus, anchored by the launch of our second annual LEO PNT State of the Market report. We also cover the next generation of ENVestigator – our satellite-based environmental monitoring project, and share progress on our work with Geoscience Australia to build nationally scalable flood risk data.
As always, these outcomes reflect the strength of our partnerships across government, industry and research. I hope you find this edition informative and I welcome your feedback as we continue to evolve this newsletter.
