AGO Analytics Labs Media Release

Call for Innovators in Marine Geospatial Applications

For Immediate Release

FrontierSI, June 2024

MELBOURNE,  SYDNEY – AUSTRALIA:  FrontierSI is pleased to launch the latest challenge in the innovative AGO Labs Program, in partnership with the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) to showcase Australia’s industry capabilities in machine learning and data analytics.

Graeme Kernich, FrontierSI CEO, has been a longstanding advocate of the AGO Labs Program.

This latest opportunity assists AGO to extend its geospatial-intelligence capability and continue to access innovative companies to trial new technology approaches. At the same time, the AGO Labs program enables businesses to showcase their skillsets to AGO in a commercial and secure but unclassified environment.

The proposal response period of the latest capability demonstrator in the AGO Analytics Labs program begins today, with submissions due by 10 am on Monday, 8 July 2024. The program is open to industry and academic applicants from Australia and New Zealand.

The AGO Labs program involves a series of unclassified new and emergent capability challenges, via small-scale research projects and concept demonstrators. There are two key challenges available:

  • Waves Detection: Developing a process to automatically identify and locate internal waves in the ocean over time and in near-real time.
  • Water Column Analysis: Modernising and enriching data used to understand the water column.

An information webinar on the challenge will be held on Wednesday 26 June 2024 at 10 am AEST. Registrations can be made here.

Successful applicants will work closely with AGO and Defence experts over four months, showcasing how modern technologies can be applied to geospatial-intelligence products for Defence and Government.

More details on the AGO Analytics Labs challenge statements and how to submit your proposal can be found on our website.
