AGO will be working with FrontierSI to investigate how to better engage and work with private industry. Specifically, AGO is keen to attract a wider pool of companies and technologies to help them uncover and solve challenges for automated geospatial intelligence. The primary focus of the AGO Analytics Lab is to address AGO grand challenges through a small number of short-term industry projects, with a focus on machine learning and analytics for producing automated imagery analysis, including automated object classification. Satellite, aerial and drone imagery data that has been collected by AGO will be provided to successful partners either through a restricted environment or onsite at AGO, depending on the agreed contractual arrangements.
An expression of interest for the first round of AGO Analytics Labs projects will be released shortly, in a process coordinated through FrontierSI. If successful, the labs concept could lead to a long-term mechanism for AGO to access and provide a pipeline of activities to industry for testing new innovations and thinking in analytics.
