SSSI Young Professionals Mentoring Program

Applications for the 2019 SSSI Young Professionals Mentoring Program are now open!

The program, open to SSSI members and non-members, is a structured, fixed term program and will include fortnightly meetings between mentors and mentees to discuss given topics from July to October 2019. The four-month program will involve approximately two hours per fortnight from the mentee and one hour per fortnight for the mentor.

Mentees

If you are driven, curious about the profession, self-motivated and passionate about making the most of your early career, this program will help you to network and meet the right people. Participate to learn about the skills needed to succeed and give you insights into what the real world is like in your line of work.

In the 2019 program we will have two streams of mentees:

Stream A, for those:

• who are in the last or second last year of their undergraduate degree.

Stream B, for those:

• who have been working in the industry for up to five years
• who have recently transitioned to the industry from another industry
• who are in any year of a postgraduate degree.

Mentors

To be able to relate to mentees, we are seeking mentors who are professionals in the industry looking to further develop their leadership and management skills as well as pass on some of their cultivated knowledge and experience about the industry. Mentors of all ages and careers stages (excluding graduates) are welcomed to the program, and we encourage mentors from tangential industries to consider applying as well.
